Achar sayur is a mixed vegetable and nuts pickle made for weddings and festivals. It tastes a little spicy, sweet and sour; supplements curry or sambal served with nasi minyak. Ingredients: 400gm peanuts,dry roast,remove skin and coarse grind
Method of preparation: Dry roast peanuts in a wok. Remove skins and coarse grind. Set aside. In a large pot boil water. Add long beans, cucumber, carrot, cabbage and onion. Blanch and drain. Into the pot add dry roasted peanuts, ground tumeric and chillies, dry roasted sesame seeds, plum sauce and sugar. Mix well. Chill for 30min. Serve with; curry or sambal and nasi minyak. |
